Goodwood FoS 2015 Review

Another year has passed at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed and this year’s edition certainly didn’t fail to live upto it’s pre-show hype. The hotly anticipated-show draws thousands of enthusiasts every year with the chance to see some of the world’s most exotic, exciting and downright silly cars in the flesh.

We’ve picked out some of the best cars from what was a cracking few days at one of motoring’s most famous locations.

Mercedes C111

The Mercedes C111 attracted thousands of onlookers over the weekend festival. No, it’s not the brands latest luxury release – it’s a throwback to the 1969 Frankfurt Motor Show when this exact vehicle was first revealed.  Those big gullwing doors give it an appearance that has been likened to the DeLorean DMC-12 – the famous Back to the Future car was voted one of the big-screen’s best-ever. There have been a number of different variations of the C111 and the one on show at Goodwood was certainly one of the picks of the bunch. Packing a 3.5-litre V8 the C111 could mix it with the best of them, despite having been in existence for over forty years.

Jaguar XF

The New Jaguar XF is causing quite a stir in the industry and the fresh vehicle is certainly already winning many friends. It was certainly an eye-catching vehicle at this year’s show with the Jaguar showcasing it in alluring, glossy white paint. This particular fine specimen of motoring was the Jaguar XFR-S which has an almost amazing 542bhp with a 5.0-litre V8. The XF has been doing the rounds at a number of premium motoring events across the summer and it’s luxurious and styled interior has certainly made it a firm favourite to succeed when it drops in September 2015.

Mazda MX-5

Mazda’s MX-5 is a vehicle with a huge clamour surrounding it’s imminent release. Mazda whipped up a frenzy last year when they announced the insanely popular compact convertible will be getting a complete face-lift. The original MX-5 sold over 400,000 units and the Japanese brand will be hoping the latest model will have a similar impact. The angular bodystyle and the introduction of more lightweight materials and a sleek outline has made it a firm favourite among UK drivers. They are expected to sell like hot cakes and the vehicle’s appearance at this years Goodwood will have only assisted this.

Koenigsegg Regera

The Regera from Koenigsegg was one of our favourite reveals at motoring’s premium event – the Geneva Motor Show. Ok, it looks good and it’s Koenigsegg so there is all ready a bit of prestige surrounding it. However, it’s when you take a look underneath that bonnet and take a look at the tremendous set of engines. Actually, tremendous is a bit of an understatement this vehicle is raw power and it’s agile bodyframe helps create a simply staggering experience.

The 5.0-litre V8 offered by the Regera will help it obtain a simply jaw-dropping 1,782bhp which is absolutely bananas. It’s a hypercar but if Koenigsegg shunt it into production it’ll be far and away the fastest vehicle in production. If that wasn’t enough, the Regera is also a hybrid. That means three electric motors and an electric range of just 35-miles. There’s no point talking about it’s 0-62mph, if there even is one maybe it just starts at that speed? 0-248mph will be obtainable in just 20 seconds. Unsurprisingly, it was a crowd-pleaser at Goodwood.

Citroen DS 19 Le Paris

The Citroen DS 19 Le Paris was one for the purists. A wondrous classic from 1958 it’s origins as one of Citroen’s most iconic vehiclesmake it a firm-favoruite with vintage car enthusiasts. However, it’s the vehicles rarity that makes it the hit among many of it’s fans. There were only nine built under the Le Paris marque and there are just three left. The DS19 attracted the crowds with many show-goers taking up the once in a lifetime chance to see such a rare vehicle with their own eyes.

Of course, there were hundreds more vehicles on show at Goodwood including the fancy Mercedes AMG GT, Koenigsegg Agera R and the Nissan Juke R. It is now that the show has passed we’ll get a chance to see how many of this exciting vehicles are lucky enough to be thrown into production.

I had a great first experience with leasing from Select car leasing and am so happy with my new car David talked me through the whole process and answered any questions I had..he explained everything in basic terms so I knew and understood everything We waited a few days for the credit checks to come back and I asked David if it usually took this long..he assured me it did so I think it was about 5 working days and he rang with the good news The paperwork side of things then took over and once that was all completed,it was just to wait for a date The whole process was done over the portal so you could keep up to date with any developments but if you had any questions, then David was reachable by phone We had a date for the car delivery and the driver turned up after giving me a ring, earlier in the morning to confirm a time..the car arrived and I checked it over as we had to sign to say say everything was OK with the car. All is great and am so happy with my new car I would highly recommend this company for your lease car
