Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 Review

The Frankfurt Motor Show has ended for another year and as one of Europe's premier motoring events comes to close we take a look back at some of the most impressive vehicles to grace the showfloor in 2015. There were a number of exciting vehicles on offer, many of which were exclusively previewed before the show, but there were also a number of surprises and a few interesting announcements from the major manufacturers. It would be almost impossible to cover all of the vehicles in Frankfurt, largely due to the sheer volume of vehicles seen over the few days but we've pinpointed some of the key ones right here.

ALFA ROMEO GIULIA

A shock reveal earlier this year, the Giulia caused a lot of excitement among those hoping to see a revitilization of Alfa Romeo in this area. Set to go on sale in 2016, the Giulia was the centrepiece of Alfa's stage in Frankfurt and certainly drew the crowds. The Giulia will be on a similar platform to high-performance motors such as the Audi RS4 and BMW M3 and will easily be one of the quicker models in the company's range. This was the first decent look we got of the Giulia and there was certainly a lot to take away from it, more will become clear when the vehicle lands in Geneva in March.

BENTLEY BENTAYGA

The interestingly named first SUV from Bentley was another vehicle hotly anticipated to steal the headlines in Germany. If you can cast your mind back, Bentley tested the water in 2012 with an SUV and it was found very popular by the crowds. Now officially into production, the Bentayga continues to look like a very strong competitor in this sector. Most of the information filtered through from an exclusive event prior to the show and you can Read More Here.

JAGUAR F-PACE

There was more to the F-Pace than it's record-breaking ''loop-the-loop'' which it did at Frankfurt Motor Show, though that was certainly something. The F-Pace was heavily built-up by Jaguar, and rightly so; the vehicle really looks the part. Arriving in the spring of 2016, we now know the F-Pace will serve up a delicious sounding 375bhp V6 Supercharged engine; that's right - the exact same as that in the high-performance F-Type model. With a distinctive design and stylish exterior the F-Type indeed looks very smart and will slot calmly into the slot in between the Audi Q5 and Audi Q7. The vehicle has a very sleek interior design and offers a 10.2-inch central touchscreen among other features to cap-off what looks to be a very promising vehicle.

VAUXHALL ASTRA

Vauxhall don't update the Astra as regularly as most other vehicles and why would they? The Astra is universally one of the most popular and successful vehicles not just in the UK, but over the world and it's unique styling has made it an iconic member of British motoring history. The rehashed vehicle will swap with the old model in the early months of 2016 and there is plenty to get excited about now the vehicle has officially been revealed. The car is rife with technology including being it's own wifi-hotspot and offering plenty of additional technology options via it's own smartphone app. One of the more exciting engines is the 148bhp and this will continue to offer competitive economy in the region of 55mpg CO2's of 128g/km.

RENAULT MEGANE

The Megane from Renault looks to have been completely revamped as the French manufacturer hopes to challenge with industry leader the Vauxhall Astra for top spot in the market. The Megane has certainly been improved in the design department with sharp LED Lighting, 18-inch alloys and under the bonnet the figures are likely to push towards 300bhp with the top of the range Renaultsport models.

PORSCHE MISSION E

Perhaps out of the price range for the majority of us, it's still intriguing to see serious progress being made in the industry and that was certainly evident on the Porsche stand. Porsche introduced the Mission E - a strongly rumoured vehicle - that is set to rival Tesla's impressive range of vehicles. Particularly the Model S. The vehicle is only 1,300mm tall but Porsche claim it will do a staggering 0-62mph in just 3.5seconds. The car inside will be typically high-tech for a car of this nature with a number of ''3D-Apps" which can be controlled via hand gestures.

AND THE REST..

Bugatti introduced the Vision GT with the impressive-looking vehicle taking many styling cues from the Veyron's replacement, the Chiron which has been chosen to fill those fairly big, and fast, shoes. The Cactus M Concept was possibly not to all tastes but was certainly an interesting addition to the show as Citroen revealed a convertible version of their popular Cactus model. We also saw the fresh-new DS4 Crossback as the brand looks to fully establish itself after branching off from Citroen. Ford have revealed their new flagship SUV the Edge which will arrive in 2016 and super-car lovers were treated to the feast-for-the-eyes that is the Ferrari 488 Spider. Infiniti's Q30 could be a real surprise package next year and will be built in Nissan's Sunderland to boot. A new glimpse at models from Mercedes & BMW was also on offer including the flash new S-Class Cabriolet. There were plenty of vehicles at Frankfurt that are worth mentioning, but if we've missed any out that you think should be here let us know @SC_Leasing on Twitter!

I had a great first experience with leasing from Select car leasing and am so happy with my new car David talked me through the whole process and answered any questions I had..he explained everything in basic terms so I knew and understood everything We waited a few days for the credit checks to come back and I asked David if it usually took this long..he assured me it did so I think it was about 5 working days and he rang with the good news The paperwork side of things then took over and once that was all completed,it was just to wait for a date The whole process was done over the portal so you could keep up to date with any developments but if you had any questions, then David was reachable by phone We had a date for the car delivery and the driver turned up after giving me a ring, earlier in the morning to confirm a time..the car arrived and I checked it over as we had to sign to say say everything was OK with the car. All is great and am so happy with my new car I would highly recommend this company for your lease car
