8 things to know about the new Renault Kadjar

The French auto manufacturer Renault has revealed its new SUV called Kadjar at Geneva Motor Show which is now available to lease and is already impressing the UK motoring industry with its features.

1) It’s a family SUV car

The Kadjar is a new model ideal for the family SUV market with prices starting from £17,995 as a basic list price which is available to order now! The car is a standard five door; though offering a bigger boot, comfortable seating arrangement and more space inside than the average hatchback making for an ideal family car.

2) Qashqai brother

The Kadjar is built on the same platform and shares its engine range with the award-winning Qashqai, as part of the Renault-Nissan alliance. It is roughly the same size however Renault is offering bit more boot space and different storage spaces than its counterpart.

3) Engine options

The Kadjar offers flexible and economical range of one petrol and three diesel engines. A 1.2 litre direct injection petrol engine offering 48.7 to 50.4 miles per gallon fuel economy and CO2 emissions of 126 to 130 grams per kilometre depending on alloy wheel size. However, the diesel engine is also a good choice with its 1.5 litre engine offering an excellent fuel economy of 74.3 miles per gallon with CO2 of 99 grams per kilometre only; making it an economical option.

4) Design and styling

The Kadjar is a very sporty and good looking SUV that seems solid with its assertive lines and athletic shoulders. Some of its elements are eye-catching like the sharp headlights and bulbous rear wheel arches taking centre stage. The back of the car completes the look with distinctive swooping lines and shapely tail lamps.

5) Bigger than rivals

Comparing to other leading rivals, the Kadjar offers bigger boot space - 527 litres space with all the seats in position - which can be extended to 1478 litres by folding rear seats down. The overall width of car is bigger than Skoda Yeti, Tucson and Kia Sportage offering roomy and comfortable interior for rear passengers.

6) Five star EuroNCAP safety ratings

The Kadjar has received a great safety record by achieving full five star EuroNCAP ratings. All derivatives come with lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring, hill start assist & cruise control with speed limiter comes as standard.

7) Three driving modes for extra convenient

For extra driving comfort and convenient, the Kadjar comes with three driving modes – 2WD, Auto and Lock. The “2WD” mode operates the car in two-wheel drive where it travels plus in normal driving conditions, this mode maximises fuel economy. The “Auto” mode, if there any loss of traction then it automatically transfers up to 50% torque to the rear axle. The “Lock” mode transfer & split the torque 50/50 between the front and rear axle plus maintain the position and grip in sand, mud or snow.

8) On-board multimedia system

The Kadjar comes with easy to use seven inch touch screen with R-Link 2 applications allowing you to customise homepages with easy access to your favourite ones. The R-Link 2 applications provides access to the auto connected R-Link store benefiting from 1 year TomTom real-time traffic and driving assistance functions.
