Mercedes-Benz has surprisingly revealed its new C-Class Coupe which is expected to be seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and will go on sale towards the end of 2015.
The new C-Class Coupe has become even more stylish than ever and looks much like the larger S-Class. The C-Class Coupe is the third model in the Mercedes range, where it will join the Coupe and Estate body styles. The C-Class Cabriolet is also expected to arrive sometime in 2016.
New C-Class Coupe will continue to offer the comfort, luxury and style that the brand is mostly recognised for.
DESIGN AND STYLING
The new C-Class Coupe styling defines the sharp-suited exterior with its athletic stance and sporty design. The front looks similar to other C-Class family models, with the bonnet upto 60 millimetres longer than the previous coupe.
A swoopy side profile has stretched further back to the front doors. It is both sporty and stylish with a high beltline and sleek, frameless doors with freestanding exterior mirrors. The major changes have been made to the rear side, featuring a similar S-Class design with a low and sloping roof-line, curvy boot-lid and stretched tail-lamps. Plus its aggressive rear bumper completes a fantastic exterior look.
Measurement wise, the new coupe is almost 95 millimetres longer and 40 millimetres wider than its predecessor, with an 80 millimetres wheelbase in total.
The sportiness continues inside as well combines the brand intelligence and its refined craftsmanship. A new improved integral sport seats, exclusive upholstery and trim, and an advanced level of safety, including both collision prevention assist Plus and attention assist as standard.
The upmarket central dashboard has looks taken from the saloon body style. Due to its 15millimetres lower size, it combines the slimmer side windows and an automatic ‘belt butler’ for the front giving a unique styling to the coupe.
The new coupe has been built with an innovative lightweight design and as a result boasts a 27 percent reduction in fuel consumption over its predecessor. Engine wise, the new coupe will be available with the same range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines at the launch. There will be only one petrol available at an exciting 181bhp (brake horse power) 2.0 litre turbo cylinder engine where the diesel includes a range of 1.6 litre with the 134bhp in C200, C220 and C250 sharing a 2.1 litre with 168bhp and 210bhp respectively. The C300 BlueTEC diesel hybrid called one of the most efficient engine offering 74 miles per gallon combined fuel economy.
A new coupe will feature an extensive range of free standard and remote services as part of innovative “Mercedes connect me” package. Like the rest of the C-Class range, the coupe features similar steel springs and a two-mode adaptive damping as standard for extra comfort as well as the optional five-stage dynamic select system.
