- Fiat 500 Hybrid opens for orders
- Comeback for the retro icon having been withdrawn in 2024
- Priced from £18,995
- Gains looks from electric Fiat 500e
- Powered by 1.0-litre petrol engine and 12-volt battery

Looking for a little ‘la dolce vita’ in your lease car?
We have good news - because the affordable Fiat 500 Hybrid marks its comeback this week after a two year hiatus.
The petrol-powered 500 was mothballed back in 2024 as Fiat concentrated instead on the fully electric 500e.
Now, however, the Italian manufacturer has relented, with order books opening for its all-new urban commuter, based on the firm’s latest 500 platform.
It costs from £18,995 - and here’s everything you need to know.

What’s new about the Fiat 500 Hybrid in 2026?
Fiat says the 500 has been ‘reimagined’ since its last appearance and it gains a refreshed exterior design borrowed from the electric 500e.
There are eye-like headlights and a smoother, more rounded profile in general.

It’s still one of the smallest cars you can lease in the UK, but the latest Fiat 500 has grown in size slightly, too, which should translate to a smidge more room in the cabin.
Fiat promises a ‘more refined interior’ as well as ‘upgraded, user-friendly technology’.
As before, the Fiat 500 Hybrid will be up for grabs as both a typical Hatchback and Convertible (with a sliding fabric roof).

What engine does the latest Fiat 500 Hybrid have?
The new Fiat 500 Hybrid is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine that produces 65hp and works in conjunction with a 12-volt lithium-ion battery.
Expect fuel economy of around 50 miles to the gallon.
Do not, however, expect to be propelled down the road in a hurry.

The Fiat 500 Hybrid Hatchback will accelerate from 0-62mph in a clock-watching 16.2 seconds while the Convertible takes longer still, at 17.3 seconds.
We recently tested the latest 500 Hybrid (read our Fiat 500 Hybrid review) and found (to no great surprise) that it’s much more at-home in the city than it is on the open road, so you need to bear that in mind when assessing your leasing choices.

What trim levels are available with the Fiat 500 Hybrid?
The latest 500 Hybrid is offered in two trims - Icon and La Prima - though there’s also a limited edition launch model called ‘Torino’.
The base Icon trim gets 16-inch alloys, full LED headlamps, bi-colour monogram fabric seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto and rear parking sensors.
The range-topping La Prima grade adds larger 17-inch alloys, tinted rear glass, a glass roof (for the Hatchback), eco-leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated windshield, auto high beam, rear camera and navigation.
The Torino, meanwhile, enjoys fabric/vinyl seats, 16-inch rims, auto air con, rear parking sensors, and some ‘Torino’ badging.

How cheap is the Fiat 500 Hybrid?
As we’ve mentioned above, the Fiat 500 Hybrid range starts at £18,995 (for both the Icon and Torino models).
How cheap is that compared with rivals?
Well, the Hyundai i10, Kia Picanto, and the Renault Clio all cost very similar money to purchase outright and (in some cases) offer more power. So, check leasing prices carefully and do your research.
The other big elephant in the room is the larger Fiat Grande Panda. It’s got the same retro charm as the 500 but is more practical, more powerful, great to drive, and also costs from £18,995.
