The award-winning Volvo XC40 is a unique, stylish and breathtakingly modern compact SUV. Armed with an impressive set of technology features and updated in 2020 with a plug-in hybrid engine option, Volvo XC40 lease is the chance to drive one of the most upmarket and refined SUVs on the market.

The value of leasing a car is more evident in the Volvo XC40 than many other cars, due to the vehicle's futuristic and high tech design it remains so far removed from cars released before it and gives you access to drive a car streets ahead of many of its rivals in technology, efficiency and comfort.

Volvo has clearly integrated a more structured and robust design alongside true refinement in a vehicle that is set to push its competitors - such as the Audi Q3, DS 7 Crossback and BMW X1 - to new heights.

The XC40 - the smallest SUV from Volvo, sibling to the larger XC60 and XC90 - had its eco-credentials strengthened with the 2020 addition of several hybrid-plug in trims available through the T5 model.

The all-electric range is just over 26 miles, making this a practical car for shorter commutes and ideal for taking the morning school run and meaning refuelling costs are severely reduced.

Some of the PHEV models also emit just 49 g/km of CO2, meaning they fall into a friendly Benefit in Kind tax bracket of just 13% for the year 2021/22.

A Volvo XC40 lease ensures you’re driving a car that adapts to your life and gives you great enjoyment at the wheel. Volvo XC40 Frequently Asked Questions

While the big three German brands of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are so often the go-to choices for premium small SUVs, the Volvo XC40 should absolutely be on your list. A left-field choice it might be, but it’s a great car with a brilliant interior, lots of safety equipment and some very punchy engines, including a surprisingly fast all-electric model. It’s picked up a load of awards, and it’s not hard to see why.

The XC40 is a premium product, but its leasing rates are impressive considering what you get for your money. Of course, they’re particularly impressive at Select Car Leasing, as we can use our market-leading contacts within the automotive industry to get the most competitive leasing deals and special offers in the country. While some premium SUVs aim to offer excitement and sportiness, the Volvo XC40 majors on classiness and comfort. It’s got eye-catching but not gaudy looks, and a distinctly Scandinavian, minimalist interior that feels really well made. You can choose from several petrol engines with either front or four-wheel drive, and there are also two powerful plug-in hybrid models. The real performance model is also the zero-emission electric XC40, which has more than 400 horsepower for incredible acceleration.

Volvo has always had a very well-deserved reputation for safety. The XC40 was reviewed and tested by independent safety organisation Euro NCAP in 2018 and scored the maximum five stars, with a particularly brilliant mark for adult occupant safety. All models get an automatic emergency braking system and a lane departure warning system, which warns you and corrects the steering if you veer out of your lane unintentionally. While the XC40 is a small car – about the size of a Ford Focus in terms of footprint – it’s spacious inside, with plenty of legroom and headroom in the back for four grown ups, and perhaps a fifth if they’re not too tall. The boot isn’t the largest around, but it’s easy to access with a nice flat load area.

Volvo has three trim levels, each with a different vibe. The Momentum is what Volvo calls its ‘premium’ trim, with 18-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and a 9.0-inch portrait-orientated touchscreen infotainment system. The Inscription trim focuses more on luxury, with a gloss black grill and silver skid plates on the outside, and wooden inlays with leather upholstery inside. The R-Design model, meanwhile, is the sporty one, with black and silver alloy wheels, a mesh grill, black roof and leather and nubuck on the seats. Within each trim you can also choose from the standard or Pro version, the latter of which adds extra features.

Don't just take our word for it. We're rated at 4.9/5 on independent reviews website Trustpilot from over 28,222 genuine customer reviews
I contact select car leasing after I had seen a particular deal that looked to be in stock and the price was competitive. I was able to find out that the car was indeed in stock (always worth checking) in particular colours and in the country too which meant we were able to take delivery of the car in around 3 weeks which was great as we needed it as soon as possible.

Ross Hamilton, the agent who looked after the whole process was incredibly professional and communicated really well to ensure that I was kept up to date. Even when my delivery was delayed due to the car having some damage, he ensured that I was kept informed, and helped me to get Mercedes to supply a hire car.

First class from start to finish. Adam understood our requirements and worked hard to accommodate in a very difficult climate. Highly recommended!
