Renault describes it as an ‘elegant’ yet ‘muscular’ car which also comes with a helpful boot that can be expanded to an impressive 536 litres.

And as a leasing rival to competitors like the Nissan Juke and Ford Puma, it takes some beating.

About the Renault Captur

The Captur is a stylish SUV-hatchback crossover that first hit the leasing market in 2013 as a direct rival to the all-conquering Nissan Juke.

And from that point on, the Captur has been facelifted and refreshed to stay ahead of the curve, adopting state-of-the-art powertrains and an abundance of technology.

One of the Captur’s party pieces is its sliding rear bench of seats, which lets you expand the boot space to a hefty 536 litres, which is huge for the car’s class.

Meanwhile, entry-level models are generously equipped as standard, coming with 17-inch alloys, tinted rear windows, a 7-inch touchscreen, and an electronic parking brake.

Why lease a Renault Captur?

If you want the raised ride height of an SUV but don’t need the bulk of a larger lease vehicle, the compact Renault Captur makes a great choice.

There’s a choice of engines, depending on your needs, ranging from a traditional 1.0-litre petrol unit to an ultra-modern ‘E-Tech’ self-charging hybrid with plenty of power.

You also lease the Renault Captur because you want a bona fide award-winner, with Renault’s smallest SUV having picked up a clutch of respected industry awards.

The Captur is also affordably-priced from a lease perspective, too.

Which Renault Captur powertrain is right for me?

Petrol

There are two main petrol engines - a 1.0-litre unit with power of 90 PS, or a larger 1.3-litre powertrain with 140 PS. Both offer fuel economy close to 50 mpg.

Hybrid

The E-Tech full hybrid Captur never needs to be plugged in, as it charges itself, and offers both decent power and fuel cost savings.

Plug-in hybrid

The E-Tech PHEV Captur offers silent, smooth running, as well as a range of up to 30 miles using electricity alone

Which Renault Captur trim level should I lease?

The latest update for the Captur resulted in three main trim levels:

Evolution

Evolution

These base models are still well-equipped, coming with safety systems such as lane assist and lane departure warning, as well as automatic air conditioning.

Techno

Techno

The mid-range Techno Captur gets front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, 18-inch alloys, and two-tone exterior paint.

Engineered

Engineered

The range-topping E-Tech Engineered models can be enjoyed exclusively with a hybrid powertrain and feature unique exterior styling and black leather-suede upholstery with gold stitching.

What vehicles are similar to the Renault Captur that I should consider leasing?

Nissan Juke Hatchback

Nissan Juke Hatchback

Like the Renault Captur, the Juke is available with a self-charging hybrid powertrain and is also something of a head-turner on the road.

Seat Arona Hatchback

Seat Arona Hatchback

Built on the same platform as the Volkswagen Golf the Arona has power of up to 150 PS and is at its sportiest in ‘FR’ trim.

Ford Puma Hatchback

Ford Puma Hatchback

The Ford Puma is a UK best-seller, and for good reason, with a range of mild-hybrid petrol engines - as well as the option of the performance ‘ST’ hot-SUV.

Peugeot e-2008 Estate

Peugeot e-2008 Estate

The 2008 is the smallest SUV in Peugeot’s range and features impeccable styling, helped by a major refresh in 2023.
