The No7 E-Tense is a classy electric SUV from French manufacturers DS which replaces the old DS 7 in the firm’s line-up.
Compared with its predecessor, the DS No7 has grown in length by 7cm, which means improvements when it comes to passenger space and comfort.
And DS says the No7 E-Tense highlights how the brand is maturing, with the SUV ‘blending refinement, comfort and technology’ in an attractive package.
A lounge-like interior and ‘Active Scan Suspension’ (which analyses the upcoming road surface and makes subtle adjustments to the suspension in anticipation) add to the serene ride quality.

One of the DS No7 E-Tense’s big selling points is its range between charges - up to 459 miles on the WLTP combined cycle when you choose the FWD Long Range variant.
DS says the SUV’s 97.2 kWh battery also allows for a range of up to 279 miles of motorway driving, allowing motorists to ‘stop when they choose to, not anymore when the technology dictates it’.
The DS No7 E-Tense can also be leased with a dual-motor, all-wheel drive set-up, which sees the range shrink to around 421 miles on a single charge.
The Pallas trim enjoys the DS ‘Iris’ infotainment system with 3D connected sat nav and wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a hands-free tailgate, comfort seats with a neck-warmer, wireless phone charging, head-up display, and safety tech such as adaptive cruise control and side, front and rear parking sensors.
The mid-range Etoile trim adds extras like a cabin air filtration system, front and rear acoustic laminated windows, a digital rear-view mirror, and the ‘Drive Assist’ pack, which includes semi-automatic lane change and predictive speed adjustment.
Range-topping La Premiere models boast a heated steering wheel, heated windscreen, an uprated 3D sound system, and the DS ‘Night Vision’ tech, which uses an infrared camera to highlight dangers when travelling in the dark.
The all-electric BMW iX1 is a battery-powered version of the traditionally-fuelled BMW X1 SUV, and has a class-leading range of up to 272 miles between charges.
